E-Stings Research
This is an E4 E-Stings that has being made using stop motion animation. The ident has being manipulated to make the objects appear as though they are moving on their own although have being manually. This particular ident has being made using scientific equipment, playdoe, synthetic feathers, water, ink, leaves a camera and tripod. The ident begin with a human hand entering on screen and dropping what looks like ink into a pteri dish we then see the transformation as a 'scientific explosion' begins and what looks like a volcano begins to irrupt although leaves then begin to spill out of the dish changing to feathers then octopus tentacles until eventually the dish explodes and we see a human fist come from under the table as the E4 logo explodes and several images of the logo appear to burst on hitting the screen creating a sense of realism. This particular ident has being made using stop motion animation therefore images have been individually taken and manipulates to create the illusion of real life and movement. Colour rendering varies throughout the ident as we see matte colours that are 100% opaque although we see images that are 0% opaque and are shiny reflection the light and create a certain image allowing the audience to visualise and enhance the action on screen. The overall Effect of the ident is very good as although there appears to be several different things going on on screen it is only what scientific experiment that evolves throughout using random extremely different resources although all combine together to eventually create the E4 logo this could metaphorically be representing the range of different shows the channel airs. Colour schemes are kept quite simple and purple is introduced at the very beginning of the ident representing the E4 logo allowing the audience to associate the ident with the channel as it is notorious. The soundtrack used mimics the action on screen for example at the begining as the ink drops into the dish. Also as the explosion begins to happen we hear what sounds like chemicals forming together untill the end when there is the explosion and the music temp begins to become faster untill eventually it burts representing what is on screen.
